On 23 September 2017 the Olimpiisky Stadium will host a concert of the world’s biggest selling classical artist of all time and most beloved tenor, Andrea Bocelli, which will be his first performance in Ukraine. Zlata Ognevich will be a guest star at this concert.
- For the first time I heard Andrea Bocelli when I was a student at the Glier Music School. I was very impressed by his voice and just listened to the disc, I wanted to know more about this singer, to get to his concert. On the state vocal exam, I performed the duet song "The Prayer", which Bocelli once sang with Celine Dion. I confess, then I dreamed to be in place of Celine. Apparently, the Universe felt that I really needed it and it's important, and now the dream has become a reality. It will be a great event for Ukraine, when people with an great musical taste will gather at the NSC Olimpiyskiy, - Zlata Ognevich commented for the first time her participation in the concert.
Since 1995 the singer has been travelling the world and capturing the hearts of audiences by performing on some of the most prestigious international stages. Andrea Bocelli has performed duets with opera and pop music stars including Luciano Pavarotti, Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion, Ariana Grande, Helene Segara, and Christina Aguilera. He has sold over 80 million records worldwide.
Andrea Bocelli received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in March 2010. A multiple Grammy nominee, Mr. Bocelli received his most recent nomination in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal album category in December 2016 for his album Cinema, promoted through last year’s eponymous world tour.
In November 2016, shooting began in Rome for The Music of Silence, the film based on Mr. Bocelli’s autobiographical book of the same name released in 1999. Antonio Banderas and Toby Sebastian are slated to star. The concert in Kyiv will feature the artist’s greatest hits and world opera masterpieces.
